Default Steering Wheel Locking during a turn..!!??

Hi, my sc4 steering wheel has locked up on me a few time now during a hard turn. It feels like I completely loose power steering for a split second. The only thing i know to check is to check for leaks in the power steering system, which I have and there is no leak.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before as well and if anyone has any idea of what can cause this to to happen. THX!!

UPDATE (12-17-09)
My steering gets heavy when I'm parallel parking turing the steering wheel back and forth.

Is the steering fluid greyish? That sounds like a rack and pinion issue. Try flushing the fluid and see if that helps.

I second that.. Try and flushing the power steering and replace with at least with Dexron III fluid or something equivalent.

It could also be the steering rack bushes... My first Soarers steering would sometimes become heavy due to this.

Thx for the replies, but i did flush out power steering fluid with auto trans fluid, since i remember reading somewhere that's what it uses...I was gonna do the steering rack bushings later down the road, but i guess i'll have to do it pretty soon..=(..When i lowered my car, my steering did get alot more heavy...

Does your dash cut out too? Mine does the same thing. Hows your wiring harness, did you relocate that when you lowered the car?

Does it lock up over bumps too?
Check that your wheel doesnt touch the wires still, or you may have left out a connector. (its loose)

What else is associated?
I cable tied my wiring and checked all my plugs again.
I still get in association to power steering loss:
- turn signals dont work
- climate control dies
- dash (digital) dies
- boost controller dies.
- no readout on Turbo timer

Headlights function as per normal, and the car still drives. I hit another bump or turn the wheel and it seems to come back alive
