Sounds like something is blocking it. Can you clean out the tracks?

Sounds like it needs to be reset. Start the car then push and hold the switch for like 10 seconds it will cycle and reset the sunroof.

I might be wrong on this one but I know on my last car (Scion tC) my sunroof would not close, I would close it and then it would reopen. It was because the grease on the tracks was gone so they had to redo it. The sunroof kept thinking something was blocking it so it would reopen.

This might be the case as well? I am a very new owner of the Lexus IS so still learning a lot about this car. *thats my disclaimer saying if I am wrong, my bad*

I've had the same problem before but it fixed itself. I left mines in both tilt and fully open during summer and I went to go close it, when it hits the wind deflector it bounced back to w/e position it was in. I touched the wind reflector and it was HOT as hell! I always though that it wouldn't close because the deflector was too hot.

What if you have a dial?

Push up and hold in the ****. If you've used that function before its to slide your sunroof back to a nominal position with the least wind noise (according to the owners manual of course).

BUMP.

Now I'm having this same problem. When I go to close the s/r when it's in the tilt position, it closes, but then pops back up. Wiping off the rubber seal with WD40 fixes the problem, but it's gotten to the point where I have to do that every day.

I tried the "reset" procedure above--it didn't fix the issue. Basically, it just slid open the s/r--I guess I was expecting something more. But, after doing the reset, I'm still having problems closing from the tilt position.

I'm out of warranty, so I'd rather not have the dealer poke around it if I don't have to.
