New rubber floor mats
Long story short, took the wifes car in to get some work done and they replaced the good...thick...rubber floor mats without our consent! They couldn't find the original floor mats when I asked for them so they said they will replace them with the new rubber floor mats that will be coming out soon which is almost the same as the original rubber floor mats.
They didn't have a time frame of when they will be getting them in so I would have to call them back at a later date. Does anyone know about the new style floor mats that are coming?

It's part of the gas pedal recall (which is 100% unnecessary in the first place) so it would always be free.
Being done against your will however I'd be expecting something additional as an apology.... couple free oil changes or something at least.

Does anyone know where I can get the bigger gas pedal. I bought my used so it came with all the recalls done. I agree, small gas pedal doesn't do anything for what potential ELECTRONIC failure.

No, there's no electronic failure either.
The reason the Lexus in CA crashed (and the resulting reason you got a smaller gas pedal) was that the floor mat got stuck under the gas pedal.
Thus, they swap on a smaller pedal, and they also replace the thicker all weather floormats with crappy thin ones.
Of course, that CA crash? Some idiot at the dealer had installed an SUV floor mat, unsecured with the hooks, in a sedan.
That's why the pedal got stuck...and why the insanely pointless recall happened to fix a problem nobody using the correct parts, correctly installed, ever even has.
and I won't even get into the fact that even with a stuck gas pedal with the wrong mat the driver still had at least 3 different ways to stop the car... turning it off (I can accept he didn't know how, still leaves him with 2).... using the brakes correctly, as brakes>engine... he failed here as he kept hitting them to slow a bit, then letting off them, leading to overheating them... one solid application to STOP the car would've worked perfectly.... and 3) that arcane "N" symbol on the shifter actually does something helpful in cases like his.
Every single case of "unintended acceleration" in a Lexus ever investigated, the only causes ever found have been:
Incorrect/unsecure floor mat gets stuck under gas pedal
or
Driver error (senile old person hits the gas when they meant the brake)- in fact as a general rule this UA stuff is reported in MUCH larger #s among all car brands in the very old, and the very young (drivers with <2 years experience). Even more obvious that it's not electronics, since electronics wouldn't be discriminating by age. Even among different versions of the SAME car (ie the Crown Vic, Mercury Grand Marquis, and Lincoln Town Car- all the same vehicle electronic/mechanically....) UA reports are higher in Mercury than Ford, and higher than either in Lincoln.... why? Higher average age of driver. Likewise, the Lexus ES sees higher reports of this than the Toyota Camry- even though they're the same car in every sense that matters. Because Lexus has a higher avg age of driver.
Anyway- no, you won't find the pre-recall pedal for sale from any dealer....might turn one up from a junkyard or something though

I'd like to see what the new ones will look like.
I bought these from Sewell.
Not great but a bit better than the crappy looking ones,IMO.
