2011 Headlamp Bubbling Defect
You have to call Sewell and talk to Darrel. He told me if the local dealer refuse to honor the warranty, they (Sewell) will take care of it. So far whatever he promised me as far as parts ordered concerned, he keeps his word
, so I trust that he will set things right for you, give him a call
yes.
from what i remember reading in this thread (you may wanna double check older posts), the eyelashes didn't end up preventing bubbles since those headlights with the eyelashes only and same inside finish were showing signs of bubbling. At first of course they were hoping that would fix the issue. Anyway, it seems for now the real fix is the new finish, but perhaps the eyelashes still help in some way...i'm not sure.
yes.
yes.
This latest version is supposed to be the solution, and so it would seem the new inside finish is the key to fixing the issue, and should be what you'll get if you do the TSB.

Yah I'm going to be doing the same, my service advisor knew about it said I should wait it out untill it gets really beat up. I wasn't really worried about it anyway because I'm still under warranty
Just talk to my service provider and said I should change it next time i get my car serviced
it seems for now they have the solution. basically there are three versions of headlight: the original one when it first came out (no eyelashes), then the one with eyelashes but with same inside matte black finish, and now the latest one with the eyelashes and a new mirror-like black finish on the inside.

My 2011 headlamps from Sewell that have the bubbling defect are about 9.5 months old. I emailed Sewell yesterday asking how I go about getting replacements under the one-year warranty. I did not get a reply today. Hopefully I'll hear from them soon.
got my car back after they replaced the Headlight assembly.
yes it has eyelashes, but the part that was messing up inside now is a mirror type part instead of a black tape that can melt. I actually like it, the LED's on it is actually brighter and More WHITE than the previous one I had

Got my car back the other day after getting the swap done at my dealer...only took a couple hours and they look great. The LED color is definitely different in my opinion. Looks lighter colored and brighter too. Obviously the lashes are different and the paint inside is a glossy black instead of flat black like before. It's nice to have no more bubbles!
Anyone got a picture of the new headlights with the whiter/brighter LED's? Gonna schedule a time to take my car in but just wanna get a gander at them first =P May bump up the date if they are awesome.
I really love the LED strips but hate the yellowish color they give off.

You can see the new headlights here. Dark pictures as this was mean to show the new lights I got but gives you an idea. Need to click on the thumbnails to see bigger size. Jeff Lange also posted in there with a day pic as well of the new lights in the same thread.
