What to do with blown ML 8" sub...
So I've read all the forums covering this (or at least I think I have...) and haven't seen a very good answer. I tried the patching of the sub with silicon and it worked for a while but I've had to fix it twice since and don't think it's a permanent solution. I checked into a custom enclosure in the trunk and have been quoted any wheres from $1200 to $1800 for box, sub, amp and install. I'm not willing to spend that much just for some bass... The dealer wants $500+ just for a replacement sub (ridiculous!) and I found it on Sewell for $307 + shipping. Is that my best option?

My ML sub is dying and of course Lexus Corporate seems to care less than the Service manager at my dealer. i will taking car in for comparison to another ml stereo to make sure. i had it blow 2 years ago, and it was replaced under warranty, now no more warranty.
I want REAL bad the 4080 enclosure, however, i'm worried with a jl amp and a 12w6v2 the trunk lid will rattle like crazy. I hope the 4080 enclosire is still made.

^ Long story, but the 4080 box is still being made under the Boxology brand. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...x-is-back.html
The rattle won't be too bad, and you can open the ski pass to led the bass vent through.
