Any1 drive without the engine cover?
It is an Inje intake, I like it for looks and sounds nice when you step on it. As far as HP gains, don't think it's huge. None really are. I like the polished pipe and price. I was going to buy the F Sport cause it's CARB approved in CA, but it was too expensive and not polished.
Mainly the covers are there to reduce noise, and likely discourage folks from working on their own car.
Keeping them, or removing them, should make no functional difference to the operation of the car at all either way, other than arguably the "improvement" of removing like 5 lbs from the front of the car if you take em off in exchange for a louder engine.

where did you get it from?
I actually bought it off someone I knew, but you can search eBay for cheap prices or google it. You can even check with Injen.Look in the classifieds, there is a guy selling a couple different brands there for a good price. Good luck.
I worked with a few manufacturers developing intakes and piggy backs for BMWs and one test was seeing if hot or having a filter located inside the engine affected power gains and no it didnt. We even tested metal vs plastic pipes.
alot of what people say here are from what they read online, few have hands on experience or has done tests

Removing the cover will not help your engine run cooler. The engine temperature is regulated by a thermostat. The only thing it could possibly do is slightly increase the time it takes for the engine to reach normal operating temperature. Since your engine runs more efficiently when warm, this would theoretically result in a (very slight) waste of fuel.
