Valve Spring Recall - $$$ Bonus
Is this only for is350's ?
I guess this isn't a worry for the one I'm about to buy... I registered the vin on that lexus website and it says
"2007 LEXUS IS250
Your vehicle does not require any outstanding safety recalls or service campaigns at this time. This inquiry covers all recalls or campaigns currently not completed for your specific vehicle identification number (VIN)."

I just took my car in for the valve recall. I scheduled it a month ago and told them about the cam TSB. I mentioned it today when I took my car in, and my consultant said they'd check it, but can't/won't do anything if they can't reproduce. In the mean time, I got a RX450h.
Just took my car into Lexus dealer and got a SGM RX450h, they got the HS, ES, IS and RX to choose from as loaner car and I took the RX just too see how it is. damn this thing is hella smooth!
I asked the service person about the bonus and she doesnt know anything about it.
soo how long did you guys waited before you get the bonus in the mail after the car serviced?

I got my extended warranty and $1500 certificate. I first received the recall letter early this month, then the extended warranty and certificate came a week ago.
I have the recall schedule for Jan. 23

just dropped off my car, my service consultant told me to call Lexus about the extended warranty or 500 GC. couldn't get a hold of them but a guy from Longo Lexus told me that you get the extended warranty or you get the 500 if you already have the extended warranty. i know a couple people said they dont have the warranty and they got the 500 so who knows.. Lexus is supposed to notify me when my recall is done so ill see what happens
I just called to book in mine for the valve spring update.
I notice nobody has mentioned the $1500 purchase certificate (for a new/used car purchase, expires apr 2011), or the $250 parts/service certificate (expires jun 2012) that came with the Recall Notice. The service adviser also told me to empty the gas tank and i will get a free full tank on pickup.
Are these Lexus Canada features only?

I got my car back today, they said 10 days but they did it in less than two. They went ahead and replaced the VVTI cams. And they're going to replace my rear view mirror free of charge even though it's out of warranty.
An extra special thanks to everyone in this thread for posting, you saved me a ton of cash. I actually got the letter from Lexus with the $1,500 coupon back in November, never opened it, and misplaced it with some junk mail! The lease on my 2008 was going to be up in March, and I went into the dealer about ten days ago to investigate what was available for December to Remember. Saw my 2011 on the lot and began the negotiations, before returning home to check the forums on here. Was shocked when I stumbled on this thread and immediately rummaged through my stack of junk mail, where I found the coupon. The dealer let me apply the coupon in addition to a $1,000 customer loyalty certificate, for an additional $2,500 off after already negotiating the price of the car down to the invoice of $40,866. So basically, if we include the bonus cash, I just got a fully optioned 2011 IS350 with an MSRP of $45,099 all the way down to about $38,500. One caveat: if you're in the finance department closing a deal and they try to take the coupon from you, make sure YOU are getting the full $1,500 value and the dealer isn't trying to keep any of it on the back end. Always check the math and don't let them rush you through the closing process. Luckily, I'm good with numbers and wouldn't let them get away with any shenanigans. Anyway, thanks again everyone for alerting me about the bonus cash for the valve spring recall and happy new year!

Right now, I'm wondering if I want this dealer to do the job - last time there, I asked them to remove a stuck screw driver bit from the passenger side head light horizontal adjustment hole. They said it was not in there...but I looked later, and there it still was! If they don't know where that hole is, then how much do they know about the rest of the vehicle?
(For the humor-challenged, I was kidding about the mirror.

I had mine replaced over a month ago along with some lifters, I dont remember this car being so loud, kinda tractorish like my old 242 Volvo was? And zero mention or results pertaining to warranty or gift certificates, WTF! ...oh yeah, did I mention 5 days with no loaner, less gas and an unwashed car was returned to me, Ens Lexus Toyota, Saskatoon, SK.?

I got that letter about the 500 dollar bonus gift card too but never received it. Does anyone know what number to call or can I ask the dealer when I take the car in for the recall this week? I did however receive the 1500 dollars rebate on new car which is worthless as I just bought this 350 6 months ago. Any help would be great.
