Valve Spring Recall - $$$ Bonus
Got the car back this morning. So far no issues with the valve spring recall. *Left with a full tank of gas and a car wash. Dealer took one full day to do the job (wed 2pm to thurs 9am).*
I also asked the service manager about the warranty extension and he said I should get a letter in about week and if not then to give him a call.*The letter should come with the 1500 coupon but no mention of a gift card. He showed me a sample letter of what to expect.
More info on my car.. It's an 06, 72k miles, no extended warranty purchased.
Now, I also had the pedal and master brake cylinder recall done.*
The pedal seems further back now and that the brake is an inch too far in front. I noticed my shoe clipping the edge of the brake pad while moving back and forth.
And it seems as tho they topped off my brake fluid but the brake feels softer than before. I may need to flush it on my own.
That's all my initial impressions so far. Gotta leave a review for the steering damper now.

Have '06 IS350 with CPO Warranty...already performed both recalls...received letter and $1500 purchase voucher, still waiting for promised "future" $500 gift card...guess I better call customer service as well to get them moving, I want my sway bars too, no fair! Seems like they're waiting for people to forget, there's a lot of people running around with their heads cut off.
I dropped my 06' IS350 in to the actual Sewell in Dallas and nothing but great service there. They had me in and out in no time and the service manager explained everything with great knowledge. The car had the gas pedal recall, the fuel line recall, the steering link? recall and the valve spring recall. I'll enjoy the 2010 250 they gave me but man I had no idea they were this slow..

Anyone WITHOUT extended warranty get the $500 ?

I called a few days ago and they told me the vendor in charge of mailing out the cards said they should be done by the end of this month... if it was a load of bs or not who knows, but im still waiting as well
I called on December 21 to tell them thanks for the free powertrain warranty but I already have an extended full warranty, so they said they'd send the $500 card out and it would take about a month to receive.
Got it in the mail today (1/18) so they were just about dead on.
The interesting thing is that the letter from Lexus states it's good at any lexus dealer.
The insert from the bank issuing the card said no such thing... but did have a mention about possibly needing to use it in person.
I think one guy said he tried it on an internet non-lexus site and it didn't work, but I think I might try and buy a soda at the gas station with it or something and see what happens.
It's only good for a year and I can't think of any way I'm gonna spend $500 with Lexus in that time, so it'd be nice if I could just buy groceries with it or something.
