I think the cost and time to make the wiring work rains on this parade.

The problem is, if you plug this thing in, you're going to immediately **** off the AFS ECU. You might even let the smoke out of it, and this is universally bad - smoke is the most important component of anything electrical - once you let it out, it's never the same again and is often very expensive to repair or replace.

So, this won't be exactly simple.
Good information, thanks. So, is the rewiring something a good body shop or dealer would know how to do?

No. You'll need someone who fully understands electronics and how to fool the AFS ECU. That won't be anyone at a body shop or a dealership.

My mechanic when changing my spring said that there are AFS sensors near the suspensions, and they are not water proof. Can anyone confirm this?

But if the AFS will no longer be used (if the headlights are switched), does it matter if the AFS ECU is blown? The AFS will just be inoperable. I just won't plan on replacing or fixing the AFS ECU. Is that fine, or will it affect other electrical components of the new headlamp?

I guess I don't know what 'letting the smoke out' means and if this affects anything besides the AFS. Or if you can let the smoke out and just know that your AFS will never work, but everything else will be fine.

You still need the auto-leveling feature to work. So, no killing the AFS ECU is a bad idea. Add to this you'll lose your multidisplay because it will be constantly reminding you AFS is not working instead of showing you what you want to see.

Physically, the LED Lamps mount just fine in a 2009 IS250.

Plugged in the lights using the factory plug-in's only and all lights work except the obvious LED strip. The flasher was blinker faster than we'd like so that means we've got too much resistance somewhere. Again, we just plugged in the light using the factory plug-in. No modifications have been attempted yet.

EWD on TIS, here we come!

If you can get this to work I'll be first in line to buy the new headlamps for my 2009 IS350. I am concerned though, as was mentioned, about the leveling and display in the dash telling me AFS is not working. Please keep us posted on what you find out.

.

The leveling motor is the same between all the headlights. It's the AFS that's causing us issues. Yes, the AFS light is on in the dash. Of course we're working on a fix for this, but there's just to many components that affect the AFS system to have this light turn off.
