I'm torn between 6000K and 5000K, but like the factory reading lights color temperature.

BTW, thanks for this awesome post.
No the V-Led 6000k front dome lights too white and brighter than the reading LED that came with Lexus, so they are not match, I don't have 5000K from V-Led version to compare, but I think at least 5000k might close to reading LED, but NOT 6000K 2W LED from V-Led.

Sorry maybe i wasn't clear. I wasn't referring to a match in terms of brightness, I know that the vleds will be much brighter. I was asking if it is a match in terms of the Kelvin scale temperature...

My concern is that the 6000K vleds are going to be a little bluer than the OEM reading light.

Oh my bad, to me the 6000K VLed very white, so it make the OEM reading lights seem to be slight blue green like?

Just checked it out in my car - the match between the 6000K LEDs and the LED reading lights is pretty close, but 5000K will probably be closer. The 6000Ks have just a tiny bit more of blue to them. However, the V-LEDs are so bright that it's kind of hard to compare color, and who uses those reading lights anyway?

hey brociouz - can you see the three dots of light shining through the dome light (front and back) lense from the led's? or does it "flood" the lense like the oem dome light bulbs do? just curious because i've seen some postings of people mentioning that and some don't like it and some don't mind. and i imagine they are a lot bright than the oem ones...thanks.

^ You can just barely see the three dots in the front dome. The whole lens has light coming through, but the points directly below the downward firing LEDs are a little brighter. Doesn't look bad at all IMO. It would look bad if if the other areas of the lens were dark and you had 3 distinct dots of light, but that's not the case. For the rear dome with the 2 festoon LEDs, there are no noticeable dots.

Question just put in..

i just installed the v-leds 5000k interior dome lights over the weekend (3 in the front, 2 in the back). i am pretty happy with the turnout, they are a lot brighter than the stock dome lights though. does anyone know if v-leds makes these exact same led's but a little dimmer, like 1w instead of 2? something to think about when the ones that i just put in burnout or whatever.

thanks.

^ Glad it turn out well.

Yes, you can order less bright LEDs. For example, http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/C...14849-1-2.html for the front dome and http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...54410-1-2.html for the rear dome. They're not the exact same design, but serve the same purpose.

Anyone without sunglass holder, changed the map light?

I read in the lighting section that you unscrew two screws inside the sunglass holder, but what if you don't have it. Do you just pull down the whole unit?

Hmmm, I don't have any personal experience but would suspect you just pull down. The other option is to carefully remove the plastic lens with a small screwdriver, being careful not to cause damage.

I think the coolest thing about having such bright interior lights is when you have dark tinted windows and at night you unlock your car, it's almost like the tints fade to clear because it's so bright inside.
