5000K should be the brightest, but it's pretty hard to tell even in a side by side comparison.

You can make them more yellow, you can turn them off (they still operate as high beams), or you can replace them with LED DRL kits from iJDMtoy or V-LEDS. Try searching the forums, this topic has been discussed ad infinitum.

They look blue because of your camera's auto white balance. Looks good!

Fellas, this may have been discussed but is there a brighter option for the footwell lights?

Hey I just wanted to give a big thanks to Brociouz, CaThaFer & all the other contributors to this thread !!!
It made this DIY incredibly easy to do, and practically fool-proof.

I did all the interior lights, trunk & puddle lamps. With a black interior, this change is a big help. The trunk should be done by everyone with a dark interior.
Also got 15% of from V-Led with the Facebook promo code !

Too bad I didn't think about the footwells until now. Oh well, I'll get to these next.

There is no plug and play solution. I took that area apart a while ago and it's all proprietary. You could always tap into the wiring and add a strip though.

Question

Is there any way to change the license plate lights? I took my entire trunk apart and figured out that it is a "complete assembly" ? I couldnt even pull them out, has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks

^ To my knowledge, no one has done it. As you said, it's a proprietary setup, and it's already LED. I'm sure you could take the whole thing apart and solder on some different LEDs, but for most people it's not worth the trouble.

I actually was only concerned about the licenseplate leds because they are two different colors. Maybe I should ask the dealership to replace them for me.

Also, does anyone know if different models have whiter leds?

^ Yeah, I was referring to the license plate lights. It's odd that they would be different colors - might as well complain to the dealer. I've seen different MY 2IS's, the license plate lights all looked the same.
