LED Lighting Replacement Guide (w/Pics)
I am thinking to get these pricey bulbs V-LEDS HID WHITE 19 M-SMT 8W HIGH POWER BULBS but there are out of stock
ahhh- i'm so torn btw 5k vs. 6k for interior...
my DRL's and puddles are v-leds 6k. i think i'd be equally as (or more) satified with the 5k's, but i'm not spending the $$ to switch at this point. i just tend to like the PURE white..without the hint of blue.
i'm leaning towards sticking with 6k everywhere but can't make up my mind! so, there's no obvious diff btw the little OEM LEDs (at your feet and map) and the v-led 6k's, as the v-leds overpower the little guys??
EDIT: i have SGM with black (sport) interior

Thanks! ...and someone also mentioned the less bright 1W/0.75W/etc (which I'm going with across the board) 6k's aren't as "blue" as the brighter 2W 6k's. Is this accurate or just one person's observations?
Will I even be able to tell a difference between my 6k's outside and 5k's inside? ...in other words open the door and the puddles are obviously 'bluer" than the interior lights. Or, unlock the car and the 5k interior is obviously different than the 6k exterior.
What would you guys do? 5k or 6k?

^ That could very well be true. All LEDs (and lights in general) will vary slightly in color even if they have the exact same temperature (K) rating.
Since you can't really compare your outside lights to your inside ones side-by-side, I doubt you'd be able to tell unless you're looking for it.
Personally, I would pick one color and use that all around, but I'm pretty OCD.

after a bit of time playing with the car (and an extra set off 1W 5k flanks) and checking different situations, i went with the 5k interior. haha
my reasoning: the 5k is already very white for a vanity light (or any light on skin for that matter), and i want all the interior leds to match. the 5k is also a better match to the oem reading and little foot well leds. 5k throughout the interior it is.
now- the problem is when i unlock the car and the puddles come on. i open the door and now the puddles are lit up 6k and the door courtesy lights (that also light the ground) are 5k (as well as the entire interior). so, i ordered new 5k puddles since they are never on with the DRLs or my reverse lights (both 6k). lol- what would we do without these big problems!?

i don't think we "need" a 360. however, the housing is a reflector, like the high beam/DRL housing. therefore, the more leds (wattage) the better. that's how i look at it...and matching my DRLs.

Thank you Brociouz
for the time spent and experience shared.
I switched my parking lights for the 6k 194 13-LED and was fairly easy to do, they match well with the 6k Garax lows, but I still have the regular DRL/High-Beam bulbs, I am deciding if i'll change those ones for LED's, which i'll probably have to do, because, when the parking brake is realeased, the yellow DRL's overpower the new 6k LED parking lights
and I end up with a yellow/white combination and I just want white or white/blueish (6k looks a little blueish).
I also switched the puddle lights for the 6k 194 4-LED 2-WATT HP M-SMT FLANK, and boy what a difference. Before you could see the light under the mirror turn on with little actual illumination
, now it really illuminates
and looks clean.
This was a little dificult, at first I tried to take the screws off with the mirror on, I just couldn't get a good angle for the top outer screw
and after a couple of tries I gave up so as to not break something
, two months later (yesterday) I saw instructions on how to remove the mirror first, which was also pretty tricky, but I was able to do it
. The passenger side required a lot of force to remove that I am suprised I had the heart to pull so hard
, and that nothing broke because of that
.
Next will be the front and rear domes, the fogs and maybe the vanity's and DRL's.
Anyone: Are Silvania Silverstar Ultras still one of the better choices for Non-HID fogs that would go well with Garax 6K lows?

You're welcome.
Another option is to have the dealer disable your DRL functionality. The 9005 bulb will still operate as a high beam, but it won't run in low power mode for DRLs, which appear yellow. Or, as you're saying, you can switch to LED DRL's, but lose your high beams.
Yeah, ripping off that mirror is a little scary.
Don't forget your trunk and the door lights (w/clear lenses).
It won't be a good match at all - I know from personal experience. They don't even match the OEM HIDs (which are 4100k) - as seen in the picture below. Either go HID fogs, or go with a yellow halogen for the JDM look. You won't be able to match 6000K lows with any kind of halogen.

A couple of notes:
Check out this thread on HOW to change your bulbs: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ting-mods.html
You will need clear lenses if you want to get rid of the red in your door/coutesy lights. Sewell sells them here: http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...-2006-136.html
V-LED sells most of its LEDs in PAIRS (the rear dome festoon bulbs and the LED board for the trunk are exceptions, there is only one per order). So, you will need one order each for the door/courtesy lights, vanity mirrors, puddles and parking/city lights. You'll need 2 orders for the front dome if you want to fill all 3 slots, and you'll obviously have one leftover. 2 orders for the rear domes, and 1 order for the trunk.
I also tried out the "HP LED WHITE MULTI SOCKET 158 168 194 906 921 3175 211 1895 57 1156," which is even brighter than the festoon bulbs in my guide for the rear dome. However, I don't recommend it because the color doesn't perfectly match the other bulbs in my guide, and it's not as elegant of a solution since it requires adapters.
Also, for the trunk LED, you will have to hammer in the ends of the festoon adapter in order to make it fit properly. The ends of the festoon adapter are conical, you want to hammer them so they're almost flat, like so:

By popular demand, here are the links to the BLUE equivalents:
Front Dome (3 slots): V-LEDS BLUE 4 M-SMT 2W HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158 B/O
Rear Dome (2 slots): V-LEDS BLUE 2W 4 LED HIGH POWER DOME LIGHT BULB 3175 DE3175 31MM
Vanity Mirror (1 slot for each mirror, 2 slots total): V-LEDS BLUE 4 LED 2 WATT HP M-SMT FLANK BULBS 194 168 158
Door/Courtesy (1 slot for each door, 2 slots total): V-LEDS BLUE 4 LED 2 WATT HP M-SMT FLANK BULBS 194 168 158
Trunk (1 slot): HP LED BLUE MULTI SOCKET 158 168 194 906 921 3175 1895
Puddle Lights (1 slot for each side view mirror, 2 slots total): V-LEDS BLUE 4 LED 2 WATT HP M-SMT FLANK BULBS 194 168 158
Remember, most of the V-LEDs come in pairs, except for the trunk and rear dome lights. Be careful not to order more than you have to.
