With that kind of length bulb it shoudln't be much of a problem without all of the line off. I only took on thing off and I maanged to get my JLC CREE one in there.
This is the correct harness/socket for the reverse light right?
All my led's through out my car is V-leds, and have no problem so far. I'm not sure whats the problem here (unless it really is the wrong socket, then ill be a bit embarrassed lol)

Yep, looks correct. As you can see, see, the harness appeared to be hooked. Unhook it which makes life easier.
Is the wires on the led itself sticking out? If they are, you might want to make sure the wires is flush with the plug.

My buddies Accords reverse lights on the left and my cree reverse bulbs on the right. Im not sure what brand of LEDs he has unfortunately, Please excuse the bad quality. In real life, my cree bulbs are brighter and outputs more light when reversing
I really wanted them to work!
since they are located in socal too! ( i think)
