Brian,I didn't remember anything unusual earlier and just checked now.
You can see where the LED firing down but really doesn't look much different than if a bulb was there instead of the LED except for a white light vs yellow blah.
I think that single LED may cause more shadowing.you would have one LED firing and the brightness would be only there and not in the whole lens.

I didn't want bright, just white and the light output seems of that of the stock bulbs without the yellow. If you want bright, these won't work for you.
I have the map lights for more light when needed.

Here's original post
as brociouz said, you don't know how bright they are until you compare.
As usual he was right.
Looking at the posts about CREED backup light ($40) from JLC i start searching around and again i've found similar "creed" on fleabay for $28 not as fancy box as from Jlc

Here's my pics, on the left "new" ones.

Back in Canada. Here is JLC Lights in the dark with no flash.

The trunk light, had difficulties getting it perfect because its over exposed because of the LED. Attemping to make the shutter speed faster to counter it does not work because the area the LED lights up becomes too dark. The pics does give an idea what how bright it lights up the area.

Got the JLC 13-SMD T10 installed for reverse lights. Taken at different exposure rates since its so bright - gives an idea how bright they are.

this may have been asked before, searched through this thread but only saw 1 or 2 questions relating to my question but not really direct on. for a 09 is, we have turn signals on the back of our mirrors. when i want to install LED's for the puddle lights, do I pop the mirror off the same way as people are doing for the 06-08? like pop the mirror out and take out the 4 screws and pry the back housing out? or is there a different way since there is a turn signal on the back housing of the mirror? thanks! probably going to buy the JLC ones since they seem to be the only ones that fit!

Yep, basically teh same.

Just to note, the LED turn signals on the mirrior is intergrated, therefore not replcable unless the unit itself is replaced.

From what I remember, it's pretty much the exact same procedure. Be careful with that mirror though, they can and do break if you pull too hard.

after viewing all the pages of the thread, is it still the easiest way to install those puddle lights? by removing the mirror turned all the way up and pull? or is there a new more efficient way? Thanks!

If you have a helper you can have the helper pull the mirror down/up and a longish thin Phillips head screwdriver to get to the screws without popping the mirror glass pieces off.
That's the way I did it.

Default VLEDs Puddle Light

In brociouz thread about LED Lighting Replacement Guide, he was showing the 5k VLEDs for the puddle. I planned on buying it but when I was looking at the bottom under Detail Tab, it says " Will not fit Lexus IS puddle light application." ? What is there that I could do and how did you guys get it to work when it says it won't fit the IS puddle light. Sorry for all these questions, I just wanted to get my light mods done.

That's because the new style changed the deisgn so it is too long such that it will not physically fit unless you modify the housing.

In that case, rather go with JLC's 5-SMD where it would fit just fine.

The link above contains the information you're looking for. You'd need to do some slight modifying, but it's worth it if you want the brightest puddles possible.
