Default HELP!! Ipod aux jack/cable

Hey guys, i'm in a bit of a dilemma. I have an 07 IS250 which is pretty basic (No nav, just basic premium pkg) and i found an aux jack in the middle console. I tried using a cable that i found lying around the house (looks pretty cheap) and plugged it in with my ipod. Works great, but there's one big problem. The sound ONLY COMES FROM THE SPEAKERS ON THE LEFT SIDE!! So i'm wondering, do i need a better cable, and if so, what kind? Or is it because I don't have navigation, so my aux jack is crappy on purpose? Help me out here

check on the connection part that actually plugs into the aux jack, there should be 2 lines on it, like the iphone headphones have three black lines on it, the one for your car should have 2 lines on, both black i believe

You probably have one of those aux cables that only is designed for a single speaker. You can purchase a cheap aux cable at radio shack.

Only thing that bugs me is that when using the aux input, I have to turn the speakers way up, and when I forget, and switch to radio, I almost blow my eardrums out!

Stereo mini-to-mini (1/8") plugs on a cable. Radio Shack can set you up.

Not only do you want a stereo cable, you want one that can get sound out of the dock connector on the ipod, not just plug into the headphone jack.

The headphone jack will produce sound, but the dock connector will produce much better sound as it's a true line-level output.

Many folks used various car kits from Belkin, Monster, etc that will both charge the ipod and provide a dock->aux output... if you don't care about charging there's apparently a bunch of dock->aux connectors for like 3-5 bucks on ebay but I can't vouch for any personally as I haven't used them.

I've been unable to find the 30-pin to 3.5 mm cable without a charger or FM tuner at any of the major chain stores.

That includes a charger, which for some reason he doesn't want.

The dock->aux cables are like 3 bucks on ebay, it's not exactly the kind of stupid-high-markup item Best Buy likes to carry.

What year do you have? On my 08, the AUX audio volume is different from the radio and CD volume. When I switch from AUX back to radio, it goes to the volume that I last had the radio volume at.

Like others have said, eBay. Loads of sellers have them for around $3 shipped.
