Yet another question about TPMS
Lexus and their damn sensors! Anyway, yes I searched and still have a few questions. I recently swapped wheels, I have an '08 and swapped with an '06. Drove for a few miles and got a TPMS warning on the dash. Check the pressure of the tires and they are all well above the minimum requirements. Any ideas? tried reseting and still cant get rid of the warning.
I believe you have to bring your car to either the dealership or a tire shop (assuming they have the proper tools/equipment) to have it programmed to the sensors. I'm going to have to do the same thing come winter.
Thanks for the advice. Seems like if that's the only solution, I will check with a few tires shops and possibly a Toyota dealer. Not really looking to spend $100 at a Lexus dealer. Still confused as to why it would have to be reprogrammed if the sensors are the same and why reseting it on my own wont solve this issue.
how far do you drive everytime? When you park, how close are your stock wheels? This factors in...the light will not go on if you drive under 50 miles at a time or park close to your stocks to reset the light.

You don't need to pay to get them reprogrammed and if they are charging you thats just crazy. Got mine reprogrammed a couple times at the dealer, never asked me to pay anything. It takes them like a couple minutes to reprogram. No problems afterwards.
hopefully the dealer doesnt try to charge me.. not looking forward to have to pay just to have them reprogrammed. but my guess is they will try and make me pay unless i am doing some other service with them.
Get it done once and do it the right way and never deal with it again. Thats what I did everyone makes a big deal outta this issue. I was so annoyed myself at one point but now that I paid for a second set and had them installed in my 20's I love them! If I actually do get a flat then it will tell me yippie! My stealership charged me $100 with tax for installing another TPMS set. Good luck and I called my local toyota dealerships they said $90 but said they had never done it so whats $10 to get it done right.
