I just installed some new puddle lamps. Is there a reason why the lamps won't light up when your standing next to the car without touching the unlock button on the keyfob? The only time it lights up is when I press the unlock button.

Is it dark enough outside when you are trying it? Are the dome lights coming on but not the puddles?

be careful when pulling apart the mirrors.
there's this plastic U-shaped tab near the blinker (on the 09+) that i bent. so when i tried to put the mirror back together the bent tab kept pressing up against something, and it would allow the mirror to close completely. i played around with it, bending the tab until it almost broke off, until i was able to close the side mirror completely.
funny thing is the tab looks to be useless too. but i'm sure it was there for a reason.

I can't get mine lined back up to save my life. I've got everything done, but like others have said.....right below the turn signal indicator there is a small gap as well as where the mirror lines up with the side. It's like there are clips I am missing. This is on an 11' IS.

I started to say screw it and yank out the mirror, but I pulled pretty hard and it did not budge. Not wanting to break anything on a 2 week old car lol.

Going to bed and trying in the morning. Any ideas?

LEDs not HIDs. You get them from VLEDs.com.

Just installed my puddle light LEDs from vleds. I got the 5000k flanks with dual polarity. Couldn't be happier! I thought they may be a little bright from the pics I saw but in perso they are just right and not excessive. I pulled out my mirrors for the install and it only took me 17mins start to finish.

Will the V-LED lights fit the stock connector? or do you need a kit for it? Cause on the site it said it does not fit Lexus IS puddle light applications..

Anybody do the puddle light bulb change without popping off the mirrors?
Forum member Koz and I did using a long magnetic tip screwdriver and a mini Maglite flashlight.
Pull the mirror assembly down/up to get the screwdriver to the screws.
Popping the mirror glass off can be tough and it's scary.

Also interesed, the v-leds site says "Will not fit Lexus IS puddle light application." for the 4 LED 2W HP flank bulbs. Anyone have any clarification on this?
