Just got a 08 IS250 yesterday. Everything is good, except I want to replace the fog lights back to the ones on IS300. I was reading the manual about bulbs replacement. When it comes to fog lights, it asks the owner to take the car to the dealer. Has anyone replaced the fog lights before?

remove the 2 clips on the fender lining and carefully pull back and voila.

search...... to get the gen2 to look like the gen1 you will need the JDM fogs ($) or just get some 3k hids.

 

I am thinking to replace the stock fog light bulbs with the 9006 ion yellow bulbs. Hope this is straight forward.

Your other option is to remove the front bumper...it is a total PITA. I've done it - twice....when I first got the car to change over to the ion fogs, and then about a month ago when 1 of them burned out. If you do go the bumper route - make sure you have a nice blanket or soft tarp to let the bumper come down on. Also TAKE YOUR TIME - especially when putting it all back together - it is very easy to a) scratch your fenders with the bumper ends, and b) it is very easy to misalign the front lip where it joins in the center of the bumper assembly.

 

i wanna do this mod too. Is there any other way around HID. Can i just change the light bulb?

 

yes you can 'just change the bulb' very easy, 3mins per side 'if its not your first time thou'. Just take off the 2 clips on liner and pull it back to access the bulbs.
