so I had fun with my IS, pulled it almost to the max speed, revving and redlining it, and when I stopped my tanabe exhaust made a burning smell and there was smoke coming out from the hole.. is this normal?

fyi: my tanabe is not new, been driving with it on for 3k miles. when I just got it, the burning smell was there and I guess it was normal for new exhaust. the smell went away soon after that. but now it came back? is this normal?

 

probably left over residue that didnt complete let burn off till you got the engine hot enough. did the temp get too hot???

 

its normal i still have that smell and i love it. do u clean the exhaust cuz if u do i think its from the cleaning product. i use the turtle was exhaust cleaner and it leaves that smell after i drive.

 

no, the temp stays normal. probably the residue though

 

no i never clean my exhaust

i only use metal polish and that was only once lol

 

Turtle Wax has a Exhaust Cleaner??

this morning the smoke and smell went away..guess everything was burned completely by now
