Anyone hear of this -Fuel tank & pump replacement on IS350?
May be purchasing a 2006 IS350 from a dealer in NJ Ray Catena Lexus...
I had a another salesperson that I bought another LExus from do me a favor and look up the service history on this potential buy.
Now the car I'm looking at is an 06 with only 12,190 mi on it but on the service history there is a replacement of the fuel tank and fuel pump.
Now I am aware of the fuel line recall but this had nothing to do with that this was the tank and pump.
just wondering if anyone here has heard of any reasons or anything about fuel pump and tank needing replacement on any IS350's?
just looking for some possible insight.
TIA

If the fuel pump design is the same as Mercedes then the problem is w/ the fuel level sensor getting stuck at a certain reading. Which means that the fuel meter in the dash will say it has fuel but really you're running on empty. Most fuel tank designs nowadays they have integrated fuel pumps and fuel level sensors built into the fuel tanks themselves so you have to replace them as one unit. That was probably what happened w/ your car..no worries.
