Default Front bumper repainted under warranty....

I was wondering if anyones dealership has repainted or replaced their front bumper because of the horrible paint chipping, knicking, peeling etc. Under warranty. I called my local dealership which is not local by any means... a little of a hour away. They said to stop by and they will check it out. I just wanna have some proof of what other dealerships have done for 2IS owners.
Thanks in advance

Stuff like that is not covered under warranty. btw, the paint on newer cars are really weak becuase of all the atmosphere friendly ingredients.

If they do it, it will be "good will" - paint chipping is a normal function of today's softer paint (as mandated by the EPA), and is common to all cars that meet the federal guidelines.

Please keep in mind before you make this request that the repaint will be even less durable than the original factory finish.

And you always have the issue of color match. Best to leave it alone and live with it until you just can't stand it any longer.

In all of my years, I have never heard of a dealer doing a re-spray due to rock chips. Those who had it done, consider yourselves fortunate. Last I checked, rock chips are normal wear and tear and not covered under the warranty. Matching paint is always a challenge. Thanks to 3M for coming up with the clear bra!

Because of the soft paint that all new cars have, I scheduled an appointment to get the 3M clear bra the day I bought my new IS. I then let the car sit in the garage until installation day, so I wouldn't have a bunch of rock chips on the front bumper. Anyone getting a free paint job on the front bumper from Lexus should consider thenselves very lucky IMHO
