I have a few small ones and I just bought the car. I noticed a thread in the detailing forum regarding weak paint the front windshield seems weak to me compared to my other cars. I'm glad I have a clear bra.

I had what I thought was a bunch of little chips (they even felt like chips) but after using a good windshield cleaner (several applications of it) I found them to be road grime or tree sap.

I have windshield chips. Maybe I should start a class action lawsuit against Lexus for selling us cars with 'soft' windshields...

Are windshields laminated with materials other than glass?

I got a big star chip about a bit bigger than a quarter 4 months after owning it. Got it repaired, and it's still noticible but not nearly as bad.

Now I'm in houston, and about a month ago i got a small rock chip at the very top of my glass. Diddn't even notice it. Until the next day when the heat built up, and that chip turned into an 2 ft long crack down the middle top and then veered to the right.

Looks like I will have to have it replaced

No chips. Probably cause I rarely drive on the freeway and do mostly city. Sure I get bad gas mileage (like 13.5mpg) but at least I dont have to worry about rocks flying around and chipping my car.

I was just about to ask the same question. I was washing my IS today and noticed a couple of pinpoint chips in the windshield with a larger one at the base. And it's only been 2 months. Don't remember the same problem with my previous car, but I didn't wash it as often as I do now.
