the resistor is probably mounted where the wires enter the amp. the amp is mounted remotely (in the trunk if I'm not mistaken) so the resister is mounted there as well, hence remotely.
he said "inline" so it's mounted in series (cut the yellow wire and connect it back using the resistor).
it will probably be ceramic and it will be low heat (this is unlike a load resistor for tail light use).
Thanks for the replies guys! I know the OP’s resistor was mounted by the amp, but my question is LITERALLY where is it mounted? Meaning, is it drilled into something or is it just hanging outside of the wire loom?

I purchased an aluminum wire wound resistor 5 ohm 25 watt. I have a new 2019 es f sport with mark levinson and the center channel bias is unbearable for me like the OP. I am going to have a pro do the mod for me but I want as much info as possible to give him as it seems a lot of car audio guys have not done this before and the OP seems to have had success.
