My Rotors Have LIPS!!!

Guys, I'm experiencing a slight vibration on my gas and brake pedals and steering wheel. So I took a look around and saw that my two front rotors have a lip on the edge. Is this normal? I looked at the back rotors and there is no lip, its just flat all around. Could my rotors be causing this vibration problem? I'm going to take my IS250 in for the brake dust tsb soon so I've been reading up on it...and I find that some of you's had your rotors replaced as well....did they say what the reason for changing them was?

When do you experience the vibration? Under light braking? Hard braking? All the time?

A lip in the rotors is simply the material wearing away, and is not in itself a problem.

Unless your rotors are severly warped, you should only get the vibration when braking. If the vibration is all the time it could be something in the wheel/axle, etc. If its just when about 60mph its likely wheel balance.

Have you hit a big pothole or something similar that could have done damage?

As previously stated the lip is nothing out fo the ordinary

That depends on the depth of the lip. If it's too worn down, that might be an issue. PICS PLEASE?

had the same problem. took it to the dealer and was told that it is normal. i test drove two other new IS350s and both had the slight (very slight) vibration.
