Guys, I'm experiencing a slight vibration on my gas and brake pedals and steering wheel. So I took a look around and saw that my two front rotors have a lip on the edge. Is this normal? I looked at the back rotors and there is no lip, its just flat all around. Could my rotors be causing this vibration problem? I'm going to take my IS250 in for the brake dust tsb soon so I've been reading up on it...and I find that some of you's had your rotors replaced as well....did they say what the reason for changing them was?

Getting a lip on your front rotors is not uncommon. Powerful brakes will tend to do this. The rear brakes do not work nearly as hard so it's not surprising that they are still flat. Moreover if you are experiencing the vibrations through the steering wheel (when not using the brakes), I would venture to say that you may just need to get your wheels balanced. Uneven pad transfer or warped rotors can cause a vibration, but you would only feel that when using the brakes. It could also be a combination of the two.
Unless your rotors are severly warped, you should only get the vibration when braking. If the vibration is all the time it could be something in the wheel/axle, etc. If its just when about 60mph its likely wheel balance.
Have you hit a big pothole or something similar that could have done damage?
As previously stated the lip is nothing out fo the ordinary
had the same problem. took it to the dealer and was told that it is normal. i test drove two other new IS350s and both had the slight (very slight) vibration.
Thanks for the prompt reply guys.
The vibration I'm feeling is constant. I feel the vibration go through my shoes, slightly, but enough to notice. Good to know that the lip on my rotors isn't a problem. I'm hoping that it a tire balance issue. Will get it checked next week when I bring it to dealer.
