Default Brake Problems

I just installed new pads and rotors on my GS430, the rotors where some cheap cross drilled. and slotted rotors off of Ebay, well in short everytime I brake it feels the vehicle shutters (feels like it applies off and on rapidly jerks) and the steering wheel shakes. Any Ideas.

You could try turning the rotors then reisntalling them?

Or you could just get new rotors.

If the rotors weren't stocked properly in the warehouse, they can warp. I've had brand new rotors that had runout on them (i.e. warped) so it's not that uncommon.

Get them turned and make sure you torque the wheel lugs evenly and to the proper ft. lb.

have you bedded in the pads on the rotors well, meaning doing some very hard 70-10mph braking for around 10 times and then let the brakes cool down natrually? if the pads aren't bedded that might be a problem

and of course it could be the case that the rotors are warped to begin with

how would you go about turning a C/D'd and slotted rotor? from my experience on a lathe, it would seem the cut-outs would seriously catch and jam the blade. What are your thoughts?

When I had mine turned the regular place couldnt do it but they sent me to another shop that had the right equipment. So I guess not everyone can do slotted rotors

Romni during the bedding process does he have to let the rotors cool between each highspeed stop or after all 10?

nop, no cooling. i was in the car, and it was no stop very hard punishment on the brakes and the rotors. but afterwards, drive slow around the block without coming to a complete stop for a while, so that the rotors can be cooled down evenly
