Default Radio/Electronics staying on until door opens...

Is there any way to get the 2IS radio to stay on after the ignition is turned off, so that it remains on until a door is opened at which time it turns off automatically? This is the only newer car that I've been in that does not have this feature (unless it does and I just don't know how to activate it......)

Thanks in advance

Weird... Ive never heard of that before... I guess thats because Ive never owned an american vehicle. Why would one need such a feature?

Well, you can set your car to various levels of 'on' without the engine being on by not pressing the brake.....so this is just a way to get the same result going from engine on to off.

One of the things i hate is when I'm talking on the phone via BT and I parked, i want to keep talking but when i press the button to turn the engine off everything turns off (including the radio link). I want to be able to continue talking and turn off the engine. Is this possible?

You don't have to hate your IS anymore. Here is the solution (I figured this one out by accident).
Put your car in "N", then turn off the engine while you are still on the phone, and then put your car in "P" (so that your car won't move anywhere). By doing that, our navi, phone, music are still on and everything else is off. You can still talk on the phone!

You could transfer the call to your handset, then turn the car off.

I loved that feature in my Olds Intrigue. I would turn off the engine, take out the key and still listen to the radio while I was gathering up my things and closing the windows. As soon as I would open the door everything would turn off. Now I can do the same thing with the IS350. Thank you Viettho.

Great tip ! So when you move it to P and later on come out of car, is the car still off or in ACC mode? Does the power need to be cycled?

I rented a Grand Prix (yuck..) last week which had the feature where radio stayed on until the door was opened.

You push the start button twice and everything turns off.
