i think it's an LPS setting to set how long you want your headlights to stay on after you lock the door. default is i believe 30 seconds. the headlights will also turn off immediately if you click the lock button on your remote after locking it the first time. if you turn off your headlights then shut off the engine n turn the headlights back on... the headlights won't automatically shut off in 30 seconds.

I also noticed that if you leave the trunk open (and I guess a door too) the lights will not turn off in 30 seconds. The car is smart enough to know we’re emptying groceries or something and may need the light. I don’t know if they eventually turn off anyway. I’ve just closed the trunk before leaving the area so as not to run down the battery.

Basically, no matter what the scenario, the car WILL NOT allow you to leave your lights on for extended periods of time while the car is off and locked.
