i think it's an LPS setting to set how long you want your headlights to stay on after you lock the door. default is i believe 30 seconds. the headlights will also turn off immediately if you click the lock button on your remote after locking it the first time. if you turn off your headlights then shut off the engine n turn the headlights back on... the headlights won't automatically shut off in 30 seconds.

Did you guys know that if you press the lock button on the key fob twice it will turn off the light?

I also noticed that if you leave the trunk open (and I guess a door too) the lights will not turn off in 30 seconds. The car is smart enough to know we’re emptying groceries or something and may need the light. I don’t know if they eventually turn off anyway. I’ve just closed the trunk before leaving the area so as not to run down the battery.

The lights will eventually turn off. I do this everyday when I get home from work. I pull into the garage and my lights turn on. I pop the trunk, get out, lock the car and go get my briefcase and stuff out of the car. The lights remain on the whole time. I shut the trunk and walk away. The lights turn off 30-45 seconds later.

Basically, no matter what the scenario, the car WILL NOT allow you to leave your lights on for extended periods of time while the car is off and locked.
