People are having problems with the 5 led refrator lites, blinking/burn out on some of the 5 lites after a few months. So im gonna try the SMT version. Just ebay'd it last nite.

Surface Mount Technology (SMT) has to do with the type of mounted used by the LEDs in whatever the application is. Not directly related to quality, longevity, or brightness, but may disperse light differently depending on how they are used and mounted.
