I think I remember reading a thread on it somewhere in here, and they were saying no, and that in a 1/4 mile it also made no difference either if I remember correctly. I think thats because the ECT PWR option is not a "boost", but a transmission and throttle response controller and nothing more.

That is true by what I know, but I can't help but notice more power and quicker accleration when in ECT PWR.

Going full throttle in auto mode, in non-ectpwr feels slower than auto mode with ectpwr, and if it is any difference in accleration, I'd think there is a little difference in power output.

Maybe in normal mode, all 306 horses arn't being optimized, oppose to in ECT PWR, all of it is?

The button works great!!! When I normally drive without it my is250 is slow but when I hit the button it turns into a is350. extra 100 ponies by a simple button.

Now see thats what Im talking about... Yes the button is freakin awesome, but its not really giving us anything extra out of the engine, but more feeding it an increased amount of gas with less pressure from our foot on the gas pedal. It really is a big difference, and a great improvement. I am seriously thinking about leaving it on all the time for my next tank of gas and seeing how much more gas it really uses, or rather, how much more gas I really use having it on.

That's great. When I push it on my is250, I go back in time....

To properly dyno your car, you should put the ECT in SNOW mode... And dyno in 4th gear (80mph or so)... In ECT NORMAL or ECT PWR the car will downshift and screw with the dyno readings... Quite hard to dyno in ECT PWR actually...

We are doing a Friday night dyno on June 15th at 9PM at ISP in Maryland... Check the NELOC forum this weekend for details... I'll post it there tomorrow... $55 for 2 runs + a/f... We have 6 spots reserved for ClubLexus... Well, 5 spots since I have already taken the first spot

There is NO difference on the DYNO on what button you use. Actually, most people use snow because you can hold 4th gear. I used snow on 2 of my 4 dyno's just to make things easy. ECT does not let your car gain any hp, it's just a difference in shifting.

Anyone leave it in PWR mode and figured out if it uses a lot more gas even if you are driving it nicely?

I think most people find that it uses more gas because it shifts at different points and tends to be more touchy to the throttle.

side note: my fastest times both at the 1/8th mile tracks and the 13.32 at the 1/4 mile track were done in normal mode. ie. ect set in the middle not to power or whatever.

Don't get me wrong, when I get around on some twisties, i put it in pwr mode from time to time nad have fun with it.

It makes no difference in gas mileage unless you are always in stop and go traffic.

For normal city driving and highway driving, I noticed no change in my gas mileage. My button stays on in normal conditions.
