Has your stereo ever lost sound?
I think I remember a thread a while back but I don't even know what to search for without it bringing up 20+ pages.
Anyways, I was driving on the highway and I pressed my steering wheel control for next track as I was listening to a CD and then my sound went out. I clicked AM/SAT and FM and back to DISC, all were running fine, and I could change the stations and discs but no sound. The volume control when I turned it or used the steering wheel control for the volume would yield nothing, not even the volume number on the upper right of the NAV would display.
I think I remember reading about someone experiencing this before but not sure if it kept continuing later on. BTW, it worked fine when I shut the car off and turned it back on. I hope this is just a one time fluke.

Mine hasn't, but I don't have ML. A search for "ML overheating" brings up a few threads, including this one: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=228744
Please go here to download an Audio test cd. Once your ML-AMP has overheated even once, it may well be damaged. You can use the test cd to verify that everything is ok. Basically you should be hearing clear easilly identifiable tones. If you hear artifacts or multiple tones at once, you need to get your amp replaced.
In particular, pay attention to tracks #20 through #40, those are the ones most likely to indicate a problem

Yes, mine used to have that problem. It is apparently due to a batch of defective ML amps installed on the first 2ISs that came out on 2006. I had my amp replaced by the dealer and now the problem is solved!!

But his car is a 2007. Sure hope this never happens to me.

Since it only happened once, I think it is a bit premature to conclude that the amp is bad. As he surmised, it could have just been a glitch. With plenty of time left to run on his warranty, I'd suggest he wait to see if it starts happening regularly before bringing it in.

It happened again today! The thing is, I just had the sub replaced because it was blown and it never did this before I had the sub replaced. I will listen to that cd evern and if it happens again I have to take it the dealer.
