I was wondering if the Silver interior trim option is available at all without the Sport Package. I've been on Lexus.com looking at the packages and options and didn't see it but just wanted to check with all of you who already have the car to see if it really is possible or not. I'll probably be special ordering my car and was going to install the eibach pro kit so didn't think I really needed the sports package. Anyway, just checking. Thanks for the help!
This is a frequently asked question, but yes, the metallic trim is standard. Although I have never seen a "base model" IS. (i.e. - No package). They've always come with Premium package at the very least. I think you may need to do a special order to get one without any package...

I like the original poster's term "silver trim" better. Calling it "metallic" might mislead those who haven't seen it into thinking it is aluminum rather than silver plastic.

Really depends on where you live. Many zip codes get the X package, which does not include wood trim. As always, the "Build your IS" option on the Lexus web site will tell you what configurations you are likely to find in your geographic area.

But, does any geographic area get a "no package" option? (i.e. - base model)
Remember, NEVER listen to ANYTHING the dealer has to say...
That is VERY true!! My sales guy told me the IS has a low compression motor and a handful of other things I had to correct him on that he tried to argue with me about. At some point you just have to smile and stop listening.

I think the 'Build your IS' function has a flaw. Although the 'X' package doesn't have wood (nor the Sports package), all the other packages have the wood as a feature, but when you get to the page where you pick your interior color only the metallic option is shown, even if you have picked a package that includes wood. At least that is the way it is on the various zip codes I've tried. It's been broken since they updated to the 2007 models and I'm surprised Lexus hasn't fixed it.
In any event it's pretty rare to find an IS without wood on a dealer's lot. In fact I don't remember seeing any in a long, long time and I don't think I've seen any '07's with metallic trim.
I have the metallic look on my IS which has the Sport package. Wasn't too keen about it when I saw it, but much prefer it now. It says 'performance over luxury'.
