Default Vais sirius integration

Whats up I got a quick question I just bought the Vais integration and got it installed by hifi buys. Now that was few days ago but today i noticed my nav isnt picking up any signal and the dealerships are saying to ask techs but i dont want to because than they will know i have done that and i dont want to pay almost 5 grand for a new nav. So the question I had was would the installation of that cancel my warranty for the nav. Thanks for your time.

So what did the folks who sold you the device tell you, or the installers? Maybe they (the installers) screwed something up?

My guess is that they dislodged one of the connectors on the back of the unit. I think the connector for the nav antenna is pretty close to the one they disconnected to attach the VAIS wiring harness.

yeah i hope its something simple cause the last thing i need is to pay a bunch of money on a nav over a few hundred dollar sat radio. O well i think i might just take it to the dealership anyways and see what they say i will decide soon. I appreciate the help you guys have given.

your nav warranty is not invalidated, don't worry.

Yeah.. well lets hope they did not do anything to your OEM wiring. If the dealer finds that the OEM wires was cut and modified.. wow.. i think ur nav warranty would void.

The VAIS unit comes with a wiring harness that connects between the head unit and the VAIS box -- no need to cut any factory wires.

plus even if those wires were cut, i think those wires would not be replaced by warranty. if the nav has a manufacturer's defect in it, the nav will still be covered by warranty.

imho
