Default Interior Trim Options Questions

Hello,

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger I believe on an ordered IS 350 (b/c I want everything, including the ML), and I have a question about the interior.

I want the Premium Luxury Plus package because I want everything that it includes except for the interior wood trim. Is this something that's easily replaceable, or something that I can special order? I want the metal trim from the sports package (but I plan on getting the sports suspension, or a better setup via aftermarket).

Thanks

It should be panels that are fastened in. If you can find someone with the standard silver trim to trade you, I don't see why not.

I wonder if you could order something like that. If the dealer were doing some repair work, and broke a trim piece, couldnt they order a replacement? Somehow I think the parts market for a new vehicle like this will lack inventory for a while.

why not? I bet plenty of people will trade their silver for your wood. It should be fairly easy to take out and put back in.

the base models have a gunmetal painted trim. it actually looks just as nice as the wood or silver ones.

There's a little bit of confusion here. The standard silver/gunmetal trim is also found on those models with the Performance Luxury Plus (Sport Package). The only other trim color available is the wood found with the Premium Luxury Plus.

I just came back from test driving a production is350 (has black pedals and stock height). The trim was indeed a gunmetal/darker silver color. The sports model silver trim is a brighter metal looking type (according to the proto pics). And then there is the wood. Looks like possibly 3 trim colors there.

The sport packaged IS shouldn't have a brighter looking dash. It's the artificial lighting and setting that caused the dash to look brighter than it should. There are only 2 trim colors available.

BTW, the wood trim in the New IS is manufactured by Yamaha (think piano wood).

I was thinking the lighting in the sport package pics may have been alittle brighter too. And I just checked the lexus website, it does indeed show only 2 official trim colors on the car. For those that can't wait for the 'performance package' and are worried about not getting silver trim on the base model.. well now it's settled and that silver trim is there too. You should pretty much be able to upgrade a base is350 to a sport is350, only issue I'd see are the HID/AFS lights. You'll most likely have to go aftermarket for HID type lighting if you have the base.

I can't seem to build one with the sport package for my zip but it appears the luxury packages all come with the wood trim
