Here is the link to the video that i took, since most ppl will not believe it without seeing it.

The file is 3.08 megs..
Congrats - nice job!

Why don't you start a new thread regarding this, this thread has gotten pretty huge and I think the majority of people reading it became discouraged and stopped checking it for updates.

Good job!

Alright that is awesome! Yes you have to post and tell us what you did. I'm very interested in how you got your camcorder to display on the screen! Of course I'll be either hooking up a DVD player or my iPod video...

Yes yes once again please let us know what you did.

Did you just splice into the backup camera wiring. I noticed that you have the "check surroundings for safety" message. Unless you spliced more wires to trick the navi to think it was in reverse. Anyway, good job.

Yes, that's exactly what he did.

Don't use that cable if it does not work.

Use the back up camera hack to select the camera input with a switch.
This will allow you to hit a switch and then the navigation screen will pull up the camera picture....(if the hack works as stated in the below thread)
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...7&page=1&pp=15

But before this, hook up the audio signal utilizing the aux input.
(Your audio still plays when you are in reverse..right?)

Then just install another switch that will replace the camera picture signal coming from the camera, with a video signal from a dvd player.
It is going to be a standard ntsc signal...meaning a quick splice to the signal wire of the camera and a switch will override the camera to the screen.

all in all this should work as the rear camera works while the car is in motion.

This is what i am going to try at least..
He posted this earlier in the thread.

I popped off the side trim piece and then put my hand in there and popped it out the dead panels.

Default Alright done and now for some vids.

Here are two more vids for ya.
They are now in avi format.
the fist one shows video and audio working while the car is moving.

the second one shows that when the switch is disabled...the reverse camera operates as normal.

http://home.comcast.net/~spdmodz/is-moving.avi

http://home.comcast.net/~spdmodz/normal.avi

now all i need is a laptop with a composite output

So how about converting the camera's video Input into standard RCA input for external video device?

Have you accomplished that yet?

The videos don't work for me. Another thread outlining step by step would be appreciated with any photos that you have of the process.
