Exclamation Lexus IS 350 Tuning Options

I heard there is a supercharger from Blitz coming out for the Lexus 350. Got any info on that? What elese is there that can be done for it? Anyone tried anythinh yet? They say the 3500cc engine is going to be the new 3000cc when it comes to tuning and upgrading. Do you suppose there will be an AWD version of that car, or even a hybrid version? I know in Japan there is a GS300 AWD.
So, I guess that is all, anybody got any information,or pics or whatever, post it here.

is that supposed to be english?

blitz has designed a s/c for the is350 but isn't available. rumor has MSRP around 10k...so good luck.

any why are you referring to engine's by their cubic centimeters? that just doesn't make sense at all

The current GS300 AWD has what amounts to a bored out IS250 engine, to wit (from Lexus.com):

Engine Type

3.0-Liter V6

Horsepower

245 @ 6,200 RPM [2]

Torque (lb-ft)

230 @ 3,600 RPM [2]

Displacement (L / cu. In.)

3.0 / 183

Valves

24

Cam Type

Double Overhead Cam (DOHC)

Electronic Timing

Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i)

Compression Ratio

11:5:1

What in the world are you talking about saying this is an "old engine". Did you think the old inline six was soldiering on in that model or something?

The one off Blitz Super Charger Kit will NOT be released for the 2nd Gen IS350..

It is waaaaaay too expensive to release to the US market.

On top of that..
None of their Engineers or R&D Technicians are based out of US..
They are all based in Japan.
It would be very difficult to install one of these and have NO US Tech support.
Plus, it was a real b***h to get that kit completely installed and working in such a tight space.

The kit may hit the JP market, but that in itself is still most likely not going to happen either.

Why not? Expressing the engine's displacement in cc's is more accurate than using liters.

You know what doesn't make sense at all? It's the American system of measurement, using inches, feet, yards, etc. Now THAT is dumb.

CRB: I consider it old since next year the 350 engine is getting put in, which is a huge jump over what it has now

I thought japan already had the GS350 AWD

i wasn't talking about a standard of measurement FF i was referring to the fact tha tmany different engines have the same cubic centimeter measurement.

ala the 3 litre engine int he gs isn't the 3 litre in the is300...which is what he was referring to.

he suggest that the 3GR-FSE(i think) will be a mod friendly as the 2JZ-GE (which it won't be). but instead of referring to actual engine's he refers to them by their displacement.

That's incorrect. The engine is the latest GS300 is the 3GR-FSE engine which is a 87.5 bore / 83 mm stroke version of the IS350 2GR-FSE engine which is a 94 X 83 bore/stroke V6 motor. The old IS300 / GS300 / SC300 used the 2JZ-GE inline 6 motor.

The 3 litre V6 IS engine is used in some other markets such as China, Brunei etc becuase the local fuel quality is not sufficiently high enough to be used in the new high compression direct injection engines. Mature markets get the DI engines.
