Default seat settings gone?!?

hey guys,

just got my car back from the 5k service and now my seat settings are gone. The previous destinations from the navi are also gone. The display also looks different (the names of roads are now vertical instead of horizontal) and it seems that the actual map looks different. I checked the "N" setting in the top left corner of the screen and that is set to how I usually set it.

Another thing that I noticed was when I hit the "map" button while driving I get the street address and town name (ex. 2 South Parkway, Chicago, il), before I would just get the town name. Is this a navi update of some sort??

Anybody experience this??

The dealership wouldn't change the disk would they?

Sounds like the dealership disconnected your battery and all of your settings were erased.

^^ I'm with him, sounds like they disconnected the batterys to probably check something or for safety reasons.

Not cool, I wonder if there is a way to save all your settings via Bluetooth somehow.

I think I figured out the navi problem. My scale was set differently.

Yup agreed for some reason they disconnected your battery and all memory was lost.

Did you initially store your seat settings to one of the memory buttons? And did you set your remote key to that memory button as well?

Ask your dealership service manager about it. He probably would know why. Sounds wierd, but then again the radio might have a back-up source of power for security reasons.

Would disconnecting the car's battery kill what the key sends to the car? I don't really understand quite how that works

the memory in the key was gone too. I believe the settings have to be stored in the car for the key to "remember" the settings.

The keyfob doesn't store anything. The car is just programmed to set the seat to a certain memory position when it detects a given key fob. If the seat settings are lost, they're lost.

Yes, that's why I asked if he stored the seat position in memory first to a button, it may have a backup system like the radio. If it does not have a back up system then it's lost. The key fob question was just another question to see if he also set it to his preference, unrelated.
