Drivers seat memory
I just got this 2000 rx 300 a few weeks ago and ever since I got it; the drivers seat memory has not functioned correctly. It will not retain memory settings correctly. Every time i set it up; then press each of the 2 memory buttons; nothing happens. What can i do to try and resolve this? Is there a way to reset the controller for the memory to see if that will resolve this? Or could it be something else more complex that I may have to shell out big bucks to a dealer to fix? Thanks, Matt
Yes, i do hear a beep/tone to confirm that it supposedly saved; but yet; when i press the 2 different buttons; nothing happens.
You need to be in Park to recall the setting.
If it fails try disconnecting the battery for about 20 mins. This will wipe out old seat and radio settings too. You can try to reprogram and see what happens.

is there any way to wipe out the old settings without disconnecting the battery? as i would rather not have to go through and reset the radio presets again if its possible to avoid doing so.

Afraid not... Mine stopped working shortly after I got my RX, and the only real fix is to replace the seat memory computer mounted under the drivers seat. Kind of a pain, so I've learned to live with the lack of seat memory. You can try pulling the ECU fuse. It uses the dome light 10amp fuse and the 15amp ECU-IG fuse.

Also; in terms of the seat memory computer; how can i get access to this to maybe at the very least inspect the wiring and maybe see if a wire(s) are possibly crimped somehow or there is a loose connection or something of the like?
Look at the fuse block behind the coin compartment, to the left of the steering wheel. Pull that little compartment out, and you'll see the block back there. Look at the diagram to match up the fuses.
The seat ECU is under the driver's seat. You have to remove the plastic shroud from around the seat assembly, and then you can access the ECU and it's harness. I have not physically removed it, so you're venturing into uncharted waters here.....
Thanks. I will take a look when i have a moment and see if i can get it to work at all. I would rather not shell out big $$ at a dealer to have them get the part for me if i need a new one but i dont see any alternative unless someone else has any ideas.
