I just got a used IS350C and the trunk does not stay open. Is it supposed to open fully when the trunk open is pressed on the dash? Because it does not. The trunk button in the glove box is in the on position (depressed). When I open it manually (it is heavy!) it does not stay up, and falls closed. See video. Any idea what the problem is?
I have a 2011 IS250C here in the UK. The trunk button only releases the lock for the lid to be lifted manually. Certainly, Inactive's reply may be right and one or both of the struts needs to be replaced. I have not had any problems in this (or any other) area.

Same on my 2010 IS350C here in the US. The trunk button on the dash and from the clicker just unlocks it and then I have to manually lift it. I will admit its a bit heavy, but it does stay up for me.
Yes , trunks struts but I would get the heavy duty ones that will open the trunk and lift fully open without lifting. Don’t have the brand but I would suggest those. I plan installing a pair on my 07’ IS350 next month, check them out , there should be a few brands to choose from.
I believe the trunk lid for the convertibles are heavier, and wonder if the OEM lift supports may be option if not a completely different design from the sedans;
