Default Trunk Wont Open. Ideas?

My warranty just expired of course (51,000) miles and my trunk will not open with the key or with the trunk open button. It stopped working all of a sudden. When I open the trunk with the back-up key and then close the trunk, the auto-seal still works, so I'm wondering if it may be some sort of electronic problem. Any ideas or should i just take it in? Would restarting/reseting the car's computer help at all?

Have you checked the trunk override button in the glove box?

No, I have not. Thank you for the idea. Is that what the button does?

It had happened to me a few times. Check the glove box and see if someone had pressed the button. It should work........

You know at 51K I'm pretty sure Lexus would throw you a bone. Have you tried?

In the glove box. Open it up and you'll see a button on the left side inside.

This shouldn't prevent the key from working. It only prevents the button from working electronically inside the car. You wouldn't leave the key with the valet or they would open the glove box and this would defeat the purpose of locking out the trunk.

You have a bigger problem if you truly are not able to open your trunk with your Key, not you key fob to be clear.
