Does all Is300s have a 2jz engine?!
I'm owning my first Lexus and RWD car in a few days and Iv'e seen a is300 on craigslist that says it has a 2jz engine like the supra but I know its not entirely a supra engine so I'm wondering if all 2001 and 2002 IS300s have a 2jz engine stock in them? If not can you tell if this one has a 2jz engine?
I think you're being a little mislead by the information here.
Yes, all Lexus IS300s in the U.S. are equipped with the 2JZ-GE Engine, which is also the same engine used in the N/A Supra (Non-Turbo)
If you're expecting it to be the same engine as the Turbo Supra engine (2JZ-GTE), then you're wrong.

Correct, it is the same engine block, 2jz, however the stuff inside, pistons and rods, are quite a bit weaker... They can however be upgraded to the same stuff a Supra turbo has...

Well technically the car came with other motors lol
In the US, all is300's came with a 2jz-ge NA.
But in Japan, the Toyota Altezza Rs200 came with a Beams 3S-GE 4 CYL.
But that doesnt really matter, now does it lol

That also isn't an IS300... Its the same platform, but different car.... Its like saying the IS250 and IS350 are the same... Same platform, but all 250's have the 2.5 l v6, and all 350s have a 3.5 v6, just like all is300s came with a 3.0, 2jz-ge

North American IS300s come with the 3.0L I6 2JZ-GE motor.
Europe got the IS200, which comes with the 2.0L I6 1G-FE motor
Japan got the Altezza:
AS200 - 2.0L I6 1G-FE
RS200 - 2.0L I4 3S-GE "Beams"
AS300 (Altezza Gita only) - 3.0L I6 2JZ-GE
