Default In a Jam.. Need help Please!

Hi newbi here. I did a sparks plug change a couple days ago and everything came out well so i thought. Today i was doing some daily driving when all of a sudden the check engine light, trac off light, and vsc light came on. I tried to do some research and thought it could have been the gas lid was not on right so after checking everything seemed okay but the light still came on. Can anyone give some input on what it could be? I have a 2004 IS300 with 138k miles.
Thanks[

Best thing would be to run the codes. Maybe a misfire

if those lights are on and the TRAC light on the dash "flashes" while running, its a random misfire code. you will have to check coils and oxygen sensors.

like 2boke2mod says you need to check the OBD codes. it could just be a loose wire, maybe you forgot to plug something in?

For some reason Lexus decided that anytime the check engine light turns on for any reason the TRAC light will flash constantly. Doesn't necessarily mean you have a misfire. These cars are known to have issues with oxygen sensor so thats my main suspect, however pull the code.

Just an idea, theres tons of guys on craigslist that will read your code for $20 or less so its worth at least spending the $20 vs wasting countless hours trying to troubleshoot. Or you can find the manual method of checking the code on my.is forum.

Not completely true...

If the trac light is flashing, it is because there is an ignition control or throttle control failure - things that would prevent the traction control system from working properly... It does not flash for any and every code, for sure, the easiest way to get it to flash is multiple random misfires, ask me how I know... (the factory ECU doesn't have the same timing sequence as an aftermarket computer, like the AEM I have, so it thinks it is misfiring terribly under any sort of real load...)

My Trac light was flashing for the B2S2 heater code....
To the OP, go to auto zone or another parts stor and they will read it for free. That is a start. Then do some research on that specific code on here and you will most likely fix it.
