chances are after you drive several trips, it reset the light by itself, it doesnt mean that it is now fixed. the codes should still be stored if you want to find out.

You can go to Autozone and they will read the code for you for free. From my experience, the CEL light will go off if the problem no longer exists but is should still be stored. Or better yet, for about 40 bucks you can pick up a scanner from Harbor Freight and read your own codes. If you're mechanically inclined, fix the problem & erase the code to see if it comes back to verify it was fixed.
