Question 2 Step (backfire) ?good?bad?

Is 2 Stepping bad for your car? U have to have a rev limiter in order to two step? i just seen alot of videos of supra's two stepping and was just wondering if that is actually bad for your car even if u have a rev limiter??

are you talking about heel-toe.... where you use the heel of your foot to raise the rpm's while braking in order to raise the revs & downshift while braking?

or are you talking about shifting without lifting off the gas?

I'm sure there talking about building boost on a manual car off the line. It bounces between 2 rpm settings to let the turbo spool up as you leave off the line

i'm not a big fan of two stepping, yeah the videos are cool, but if I am building boost right off the line unless my car hooks up right away I will just be burning rubber.

Also you have to consider the size of your turbo, MSD has a two step kit.

No it shouldn't be bad cus there is a limiter. But if u do it for a while, u flood ur motor wit gas since ur not moving at all. People mostly use it to launch (build boost) off the line. My bros turbo accord for ex. Inline 4 turbo on 8-9 lbs = 270+whp. At the drags ran I believe 14.8 w/o slicks and 2 step launched at red line @ zero psi off the line. Then he got 2 step and slicks.. Ran a 13.2 with slicks and 2 step @ 3-5 psi of boost out the hole. if ur into drag racing 2 step is the way to go.

Shifting without letting off the gas is called power shifting. The 2 step is just a launch control

2-step is only useful for manual trans turbo cars that go drag racing...

If you do not understand what a 2 step is for (which it does not sound at all like you do), do yourself a favor and do not do it.

There is a higher purpose for it than ricing out your car and thinking it just sounds cool.
