Default First Upgrades, advice?

I've currently had my 2003 IS300 for 2 months. I am very happy with the car but I'm kinda a gear head and want a little more juice. Unfortunately my budget is kinda tight, being that I'm attending the U of MN. Could you guys help me decide what kind of parts I should buy that would give me the most hp per dollar? -much appreciated...

depending on just how much money and power i would go with some camshafts. theyre freakin 800 dollars but your gonna spend a whole lot more trying to get 50 hp from little 200 dollar upgrades. the srt intake will add about 20 hp but thats 350 dollars and personally i think it would be better to buy a separate ecu upgrade than the one it comes with. the mazzuri header ill definately rep. i'll argue with everybody if i have to but i beat a 5.0 mustang(short ram and cat-back included) by 4 car lengths at the end of the 1/4 mile. it is 800 dollars also though.and loud

What kind of labor charges would I be looking at for the crankshaft upgrades? I would like to get the most power I can N/A, and worry about tc's and sc's later. So that sounds like a good plan. Although I don't know of any speed shops in my area and I do not have the necessary equipment to do such an upgrade...

Do you know of any other headers that produce less noise that are effective?

It would be a stretch, but I could probably go turbo... My main concerns would be if there would need to be other purchases recommended to help balance the car, or to help the turbocharger. I would also be worried about problems down the road, which most tc's are notorious for...

I appreciate your help

Default I'm Decided

First, I'm going to get mazzuri headers, and a hks exhaust. I've got friends near the SRT Shop in maryland. I was thinking I could go stay with him while my IS300 gets the 2.75 stage turbo kit and see if they can't do my cams too. Afterwards I will upgrade my suspension.....

I'll send pics once it's done.... thank's for your help!

From what I understand in dealing with SRT is that they produce a stage 2.75 and a totally custom kit. The 2.75 is what you should probably go with. The only thing that I would suggest is that you make sure you alert and stress to SRT is that you are from out of town and you will have a specific time frame in which the project must be done. From what I have heard is that they tend to work at a rather slow pace, not necessarily at the pace we would expect either. Good Luck.

P.S. If and when you are in that area alert the guys and gals in the NELOC section of this forum and we can all get together. We have quite an impressive selection of cars.

Hi there, what kind of horsepower gains would one get from a camshaft swap (if any) and how high are the rev limits then? and also would it kill my fuel mileage? its still my daily driver and I don't want to ruin it.
