Why has the MPG decreased for the newer models? I'd have expected it to have increased due to better hybrid systems/batteries.
I have a 23 350h and I'm getting about 33. And it's increasing as the car ages. I just crossed 2,000 miles.

We did a 650km round trip last weekend, There and back 325km each way. Real world numbers filling up before we left and refiling on the way back we achieved 5.6l/100km (42mpg). The dash said 5.8l/100km. Vehicle was loaded with camping stuff and the family. Almost entirely highway, speed ranged from 80 to 130km/h. Impressed. When we got back we just hit 2100km on the ODO.

As soon as i get more data I will link my fuelly here.

Agree with Klamalama, at around 5K my 350h is exceeding the EPA ratings on regular gas. Very happy.

All ICE engines get poor milage until at full operating temperature.

I am impressed at how fast the little 4 banger heats up and will be welcome this winter. Please let winter come early as it has been hot in Florida.

I knew I could push the MPG above the stated rating as I have with my previous 2021 Venza Hybrid Limited. First 100ish miles in mixed driving up to 75 on “normal” mode with AC running (eco mode) I hit 40mpg. No reving the engine or hitting the pedal to the metal. I’m choosing to break in my engine gently. As I learned with my first Hybrid, driving techniques that are now second nature such as coasting more on hills/before lights and laying off the pedal on the hwy for a few seconds every so often will yield eco/battery charge. I even have a habit of doing this in my husbands GX 460 Blackline but it yields me nothing. Ha,ha.

The next day the temps dropped and MPG went down to 38/39 with a headwind and running the heater/heated seats. This baby is a smooth operator gliding down the hey leaving the chaos outside. For non hybrid drivers there is a very slight difference in braking feel (regenerative breaking) and slight steering vibration on rougher roads. In the Venza it was way, way more pronounced. I don’t even notice the eCVT or engine transitions. It’s very smooth and with an 80 mile daily commute, the Hybrid was the way to go right now and gives me the larger space. I’m so glad I did not opt for the regular RX.

After a few days I’ll test mpg in Eco mode. Next up, I’ll be chrome deleting around windows and mirrors for a sportier Blackline/500h look with the Nebula.
That's really great, I have had mine since the end of Jun and set it up on Eco mode and have a current average to date of 6.4 L to 100km (36.75 mpg US)

I was a bit surprised by the low number, so I topped off the gas tank and cleared the history in trip information. Did a few miles on the tank around town this morning and it is only reading 20.7. I’m new to the hybrid world. Upgraded from a 21 RX350 and I hope you don’t mind a few questions:
  1. Is this gas mileage normal? I was expecting in the 30s.
  2. Does the MPG reset when you fill the tank like my 21 did?
  3. Can I see the MPG for the current gas tank? I can only see how I can view total MPG?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
I purchased mine at the end of Jun and set the driving and AC modes to Eco, since then (2384km) I have averaged 6.3- 6.4 L per 100km (35.75 mpg US). My driving style has been on the conservative side and includes 4 trips over the MALAHAT Mtn and around town which includes hills and flat. I also did a trip to Vancouver and was in heavy traffic for the most part over two days and the EV mode was in use quite often. Huge difference over my MDX (other than dismal mpg it was a great SUV) which I miss a bit less every time I don't fill up lol.

Thanks for the fuel pump information. I bought my car in July and was disturbed to find out that there was so much gas left in the tank after my "low fuel" light went on. I was determined to drive until I reached the REAL empty mark, but I don't want to mess up my fuel pump.

I know what you're feeling. I too was obsessed with finding the "real" near empty level on mine. But after reading the comments about problems with running the car too low, I realized that I never really have the need to drive my RX over 500 miles without a refuel. So I settled back to just enjoy the car. I still rarely have to stop at the gas station.

3,000 miles in and I am getting 35.4 mpg since new on 87 gas. Really loving the efficiency, it’s worthwhile trade off for the droning noise of the 4 cylinder when under hard acceleration but I’d say the power is adequate.

Omar my thoughts as well, the drone is not ideal but manageable given the excellent gas mileage, I also use regular gas. Cheers

I am not sure the mpg computed by the car software is accurate. You have to determine the gallons required to fill up and divide into the miles driven to secure an accurate mpg determination.

I believe my car software is very accurate in computing MPGs, as has been the case with all my prior Lexi.

I doubt the car software is perfectly accurate but is close. Filling you tank to full each time is not consistent either.
