I knew I could push the MPG above the stated rating as I have with my previous 2021 Venza Hybrid Limited. First 100ish miles in mixed driving up to 75 on “normal” mode with AC running (eco mode) I hit 40mpg. No reving the engine or hitting the pedal to the metal. I’m choosing to break in my engine gently. As I learned with my first Hybrid, driving techniques that are now second nature such as coasting more on hills/before lights and laying off the pedal on the hwy for a few seconds every so often will yield eco/battery charge. I even have a habit of doing this in my husbands GX 460 Blackline but it yields me nothing. Ha,ha.
The next day the temps dropped and MPG went down to 38/39 with a headwind and running the heater/heated seats. This baby is a smooth operator gliding down the hey leaving the chaos outside. For non hybrid drivers there is a very slight difference in braking feel (regenerative breaking) and slight steering vibration on rougher roads. In the Venza it was way, way more pronounced. I don’t even notice the eCVT or engine transitions. It’s very smooth and with an 80 mile daily commute, the Hybrid was the way to go right now and gives me the larger space. I’m so glad I did not opt for the regular RX.
After a few days I’ll test mpg in Eco mode. Next up, I’ll be chrome deleting around windows and mirrors for a sportier Blackline/500h look with the Nebula.
This doesn't look like the display options for an RX 350h? Is this an ESh?
We just test drove a new 2024 RX350h Premium + AWD this morning. The window sticker says 37mpg city, 34mpg hwy and 36mpg combined. The vehicle had 4 miles on the odometer when we test drove it. We drove a total of 22.2 miles in town mostly and a bit of highway. The display showed the RX350h was getting 20.2mpg which totally shocked me because I was expecting at least 30 to 35mpg. Can some of you who have the 350h please enlighten me on this issue? Salesman told us mileage should improve to the 30s range once broken in. I just find it hard to believe there's such a huge difference in gas mileage. Has it been your experience you initially got very poor gas mileage? We really like the RXh especially the ride and everything else but the poor gas mileage really stumped us. Your thoughts please. Thanks.

I have had 5 RX hybrids and they all had increases in mileage after 5000 miles. The dash display can be way off. I track my actual mileage and the display error with each fill. My cunulative mileage after a little over 8000 miles is 34.7 mpg with a combination of driving conditions. The display does not show a consistent error one way or the othe. I have had it range from -17.6% to +21.6%. The problem with getting a good "fill" impacts that error. The long term average is a better indicator.

I find it hard to believe a brand new vehicle displaying incorrect gas mileage. Surely any new Lexus before leaving the factory will have everything checked and calibrated correctly. This doesn't give a new potential buyer any confidence. Yes, long term average is a better indicator but this is not an option for someone test driving it first time for a short duration. Displaying 20.2mpg is a huge discrepancy with the advertised 36mpg combined.
The sticker mileage is for a hybrid that is warmed up (4 bars on the temp side of the display). A cold RX 350h will run 15 mpg. Your 20.2 mpg is probably reflective of a % of your drive at 15 mpg and another % of your drive at sticker ratings.

I live in Pittsburgh and run short trips in winter often. Still get 34-35 MPG. I fully reject that a cold 350h will only deliver 15MPG. I’m calling bull-loney.
We consistently get 38-38 US MPG (6l/100 km) year round. And in winter city driving, substantially better than that due to the hybrid drive. If we got 15-20 MPG I'd return the car.
I agree 18 months I average 35-40 mpg, current tank 38.9 I check manually and compare to Lexus computer. Sometimes they are almost exact, other times they are 1-2 mph off but always between 35-40.
The lowest I've ever gotten is 29 MPG and that was when it was extremely cold and I was doing mainly highway driving. I've had my RX350h for nearly a year and I typically get 35 MPG.
We have driven our 24 RX350h for about 22,00 km ( 13750 miles) and so far averaging 5.8 L/100km ( ~40 MPG).
So far I could not be happier with this car. Smooth, comfortable, spacious for our family and vacations and great on gas. Regular gas on top of it.

Agreed, we did our first road trip from BC through Washington and Oregon States. We were amazed at how little we filled up for gas compared to our 2017 MDX. Cheers.

After 22 months, 25,000 miles I average 31mpg in the winter and 35mpg in the summer. Bull-loney confirmed, never saw 15mpg lol.

Only way I see how someone can get 15mpg is to drive car cold very very short distances…
the 350h have exhaust heat recovery and EGR cooler which heats up coolant during cold. It is the fastest warm up car I ever owned. In Canadian winter sitting outside in -20deg C the coolant warms up to 4 bars in around 2-3km of driving.
I can’t wait for ours. We’ve put an order in for a 350h last week. Coming from a 4Runner, I hope it’s a night and day difference.
I traded in my 2024 Limited 4 Runner for a 2025 RX350h Luxury, 2000+ miles so far and loving it. Night and day big time!!; best car move I’ve ever made. Changed the oil at 1,000mi and plan to continue at 5,000 increments. I would never go 10k between changes; very small price to pay!
