Non Operational Time, 2023 NX350h
Not very long or your 12v battery will die. If its over a week Lexus recommends a battery tender. My 350h died is my 53 degree garage in 9 days and others have had the same problem. My service advisor recommends having a neighbor with a spare car I could borrow LOL (but true).
We were gone for 10 days this past summer and no issue. NX is garaged so I left it unlocked.
My 2016 and 2018 ES 350’s would have an issue if I locked them (garaged) and came back after an extended period of time. The theory on the ES board is that when the car is locked it’s searching for the key fob.
So why was I locking them in my garage? Habit. So the next trip I left the ES unlocked and had no issue. Coincidence? I have no idea. I have not tested this with the NX.
I have also wondered about the Lexus App and how it connects with the car to retrieve data. Does it only get the data as of the last time it was on? Or each time the App refreshes? Like Status, Lock, Start and Unlock.
I am weary of using a battery tender on our 350h because the battery is in the back and it would seem to me that unless vented it could be bad. I don’t know if that is a real concern.
Our son has a Mazda and it’s interesting, Mazda you have to push a button on the door handle to unlock. It’s not searching for the fob until you push the button.

My LS460 (sold) and my wife’s ES350 (kept locked) “survived” more than 2 months during a long vacation a few years back. Was wondering why would my new NX350h have such an allegedly shorter battery life. Is it the hybrid system or is it the new sophisticated electronics that put the extra stress on the 12v battery?
Just as a clarification the battery tender would connect to the port in the fuse box under the hood and not the battery in the back. At least that's what my Lexus service advisor recommends. Happy to see that not all NX350hs have this issue.
What do you do when you're going on a 2 week cruise and you leave your 350h in airport long term parking? And it's winter time to boot. Are you saying I will likely need a jump start?

At this point I don't know what the proper protocol is regarding battery maintenance on the NX 350h. Only relaying what my Lexus service advisor told me when my battery went completely dead after 9 days parked (unlocked) in my relatively warm garage. As reported here some folks have not had this problem. I just put a battery tender on my 350h after driving it approximately 50 miles yesterday and it is showing less than 80% charge so I don't know what is draining the battery. The Lexus technician reported that the battery, altenator and general electrical system are all showing good. Yeah, I am going on a cruise next month to but I am renting a car and leaving my 350h on the battery tender.in my garage. Sad that I can't trust a 5 month old Lexus with just over 2K miles on it. This is my 6th Lexus and I have already had more issues with this one than the other 5 combined. On the other hand, I have gone as long as a month without starting my Tundra and it starts like it did when it was new.
My wife’s previous car was a 2014 IS250 (first year change). It would randomly go dead overnight.
Dealer tried to say we must have left a light on or something. But you can’t. They turn off after 20 minutes.
Turns out the new 2014 IS had an ICU issue that would sometimes drain the battery. It became a known problem.
I am not saying that this is the issue. Our 2018 ES about 6 months old had a bad battery and it was replaced by the dealer.
I purchased a jump starter Type S from Amazon. Small compact lithium battery. I carried that in my trunk for fear of being stranded. This little thing jump started my 52 year old car with a 460 big block.
If you are having issues, have the battery tested by someone who can determine if it has a bad cell. I do not know if hybrid can use an AGM battery or not but that’s the way I want to go when it’s time to replace the 12 v battery.

I travel a lot and leave the car in airport long term parking. After reading this thread, decided to look into buying a jump starter. I'm interested in the NOCO Boost Plus GB40. I am wondering what "Type S" means. The NOCO does not say it is Type S. Is Type S needed for this car?
I bought it on Amazon. Type S is the brand. Search for Type S jump starter.
It is a lithium Ion battery. Recharge using USB. Can also do wireless phone changing and flash light.
I have not had any issue with it holding a charge. You would probably want to check the status lights now and then to keep it fully charged.
Note: Just pulled the jump starter out and it had 3 of 4 bars after sitting for probably a year in the garage. Recharging it to put in the back of the 350h

edit - sorry, didn't see this had been answered by another member.
I have the Type S from Costco and carry it in my car when traveling. We will be parked at an airport for 8 days in March, reasonably temperate climate. I seem to remember some precautions being mentioned in the manual about long term parking to help mitigate battery drain. Could anyone direct me to that section? Also, in the event of a non start - how does one use a battery jump starter on our hybrids?
I have been considering getting one of these jump starter packs for my NX350h. I notice however that all of the packs I have seen online appear to have relatively short jumper cables and I fear that they won't be long enough to attach them to the specific locations under the hood as described in the car's manual, i.e. what Lexus calls the "exclusive jump starting terminal" (labelled A in the manual) and the unpainted metallic point on the lower left-hand side of the engine block (labelled D in the manual). Are there any alternatives for D that I can use which are closer to A? I'm assuming that D is purely an earthing point.
