Compass displays in split screen w/ backup camera view when in reverse
I just recently noticed that my compass displays in the right-hand split screen alongside my backup camera view in the left-hand split screen when in Reverse. I can't find anything on it in the manual.
I'm curious why Lexus felt displaying the compass and longitude/latitude coordinates when in reverse gear is beneficial or even necessary.
I guess I'll now remember how to obtain my location coordinates if I ever need to tell roadside assistance where I've broken down.
Wait! A Lexus never breaks down, does it?

Does your compass display in the right-hand split screen alongside the backup camera view in the left-hand split screen when in Reverse? Or is this something that only 2018+ GS 450h models have?
If I have the right hand portion of the screen set to nav/compass, then put it in reverse, yes, I'll get the compass on the right hand side of the backup camera screen. If I have my nav map on full screen before going into reverse, or have something else on the right, like music, then the right hand screen, next to the backup camera, will be black. Hope that makes sense.

Strange...
I wonder what makes yours and mine react differently?

Interesting! JDR76 - I have the NAV map on full screen full time, but I get the compass and coordinates in the right-hand side of the backup camera screen when going into reverse.

Maybe it's something that only late models do.
Alrighty @bclexus , I never used to have the map or compass show up on my screen while in reverse. To investigate your question, I found that if, while in full map mode (not in reverse) I pull up the nav screen on the right side of the display and set it to either map or to the compass, then go back to full screen map, the map or compass will then show up when I put it in reverse. But now, no matter what I do, it's there. Even if I first pull up the music screen on the right, or the fuel consumption screen, it'll revert to the map or compass and reverse camera. I need more time to play around with this. I have to be missing something obvious.

Well, now - like me - you'll always be able to provide your coordinates if necessary... I think I kinda like that...I think!
