Interesting. That is precisely what my last tank measured, right down to the tenths - even the dash reading. Our driving history with this tank was very similar with short trips, but temps were probably about ten degrees lower on average. Dash is reading 35.0 on the current tank at about 1/2, but average trip lengths are more like 15 miles. Still city/rural mix with 35 MPH average speed.
FWIW, the current tank calculated out to 33.1 when I refueled a couple days ago. Dash showed exactly the same. It’s pretty rare the dash matches, but it does occasionally happen. Usually the dash is about 1.5 mpg more optimistic than actual. Vehicle has 10,207 miles on it. Temps are now mid to upper 90s, so I won’t do that well on this tank…

30.3 mpg calculated. The RX said 30.3 mpg. Filled up with Sam's Club Premium 93 Octane. I had the RX in for its yearly service and checkup. I assume the idling during the service helped decrease my mileage a bit.
As long as your engine was warm, and I assume you drove the car there, it will shut itself off when not needed. So, it wouldn't have been running very long, It may not have run moving into the garage but it probably did start.

I figured that if it sat for a time they may have ran it through techstream to warm it up before changing the oil and filter. Also they put almost a mile on it, I guess a test drive. They also did a 4 wheel alignment at my request. I always look at the mileage and estimated mpg when I drop it off and pick it up. The estimated mpg always gets delivered back to me a little lower.

Filled up our 450h yesterday. In 442 miles we used 13.604 gallons. Calculates out to 30.02 MPG. Dash read 13.0 MPG so this was one of those rare times when calculated and dash display agreed. Driving was mostly local city suburb type roads - 35-50 mph with a brief stint of rural 65 mph driving. Temps ranged from triple digits to 60's. Fuel was Chevron premium.
So I have had my 2019 RX450h for a month now. I have filled the tank twice. The MPG has not changed from 27.3 for the entire time. I am surprised, especially when I drive mostly in EV mode. My first hybrid.
Any experts out there??

How are you calculating this? You cannot rely on the dash as it is notoriously optimistic by about 1.5 or 2 MPG. Also, the dash needs to be reset and cleared for each tank in order for it to even get close.
As to techniques for driving a hybrid in order to maximize your mileage, there are numerous threads here and in many other forums for maximizing your fuel economy. I recommend you do a search here to locate those discussions. The best single recommendation I can give you is the “pulse and glide technique”. Just drive normally (but not in a spirited/aggressive) manner up to a few miles above the speed you desire, then relax the throttle just a bit to get the EV mode to engage, and then apply just enough pressure on the throttle to maintain speed. This obviously only works at speeds up to 35 mph, and shouldn’t be used in heavy traffic or with following traffic as you don’t want to be one of those “nuisance” hybrid owners. Also keep in mind, this technique only works in stop&go city traffic so if your driving is predominately higher speed or highway, you won’t do much better that the 27.3 you described above. Cold weather driving also hurts the city mileage as the vehicle has to run the internal combustion engine more/longer to maintain heat. At highway speeds it will run the ICE continuously anyway.

About 4-5 months ago, I bought our first ever Lexus. A fully loaded 450h F-Sport Handling V6 AWD.
The one thing that is really bothering us is how less than rated fuel economy we are getting.
Technically this car needs to go 31 miles in town and 28 miles on highways giving us a combined fuel economy of about 29 mpg. We drive almost exclusively in and around town and I’m observing 22-23 mpg. We tried the super premium fuel and premium fuel, but the fuel economy simply doesn’t improve. We drive on the ECO settings and don’t blast the air conditioning nor do we drive with a heavy foot.
Did we make a mistake buying this car thinking it would net us 29-30 mpg? 22-23 mpg can be obtained on performance SAVs, which this 450h is far from.
Service center says this is normal.
I have escalated this to Lexus but haven’t heard anything back.
I am coming to this forum to see what others are experiencing for 2020-2022 RX450h cars and perhaps see if anyone has anything helpful to offer?
Many thanks in advance.
it’s normal but if you drive very conservatively you can get 28.
Now that it’s cold I’m below 20mpg! Lifetime average 25, all time high 27.2. I can’t believe how far below estimated combined I am; I’m usually right around the window sticker or a bit above and I haven’t changed my driving habits.

I have a 2022 RX 450H and have never seen anything over 26. I drive in the ECO mode.
